Tarra L. Hoden

Tarra L. Hoden received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science at the University of New Mexico in 1994. She then attended law school in San Diego, California at California Western School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree in 1999. Ms. Hoden has been practicing law since 1999 in the areas of insurance defense and personal injury and is licensed to practice law in California, Colorado and New Mexico. After practicing law in Denver, Colorado and San Diego, California, Ms. Hoden returned to her beloved New Mexico to practice law in early 2007.

Over the course of the last twenty-five years, Ms. Hoden has had extensive practice in the area of insurance defense. In the past, she has been legal counsel at insurance defense firms and most recently was in-house counsel for a major insurance company for close to ten years. Ms. Hoden has also represented Plaintiffs in personal injury cases. This background provides Ms. Hoden with particularized knowledge and in depth understanding from the perspective of both insurance companies and Plaintiffs. Ms. Hoden has also been appointed by Courts as a Guardian Ad Litem to evaluate and provide recommendations to the Court as it pertains to settled cases involving minor children.

Ms. Hoden has handled hundreds of litigated cases, which entail taking depositions of parties, witnesses and experts, conducting written discovery, and attending mediations, arbitrations and trial. Although most cases result in settlement, Ms. Hoden has had plenty of trial experience with successful outcomes. Ms. Hoden is happy to advocate for her clients and go to trial should it be in the best interest of her clients.

In her free time, Ms. Hoden enjoys spending time with her daughter and puppies, cooking gourmet meals for friends, traveling around the world, as well as enjoying playing the guitar and singing.
